Nominations for the 2026 SHARE Catalyst Award are now open

First awarded at the 2025 SHARE Investor Summit, the Catalyst Award has been designed to honour fearless changemakers and leaders advocating for and mobilizing progress across the Canadian responsible investing landscape.

Moving ESG issues and responsible stewardship strategies from the fringes of Canadian finance to a central tenet of the system is the result of extraordinary efforts by dedicated leaders and innovators whose patience, passion and commitment to real-world change inspired this award.

It continues to be personified by current leaders in responsible finance – people like the winner of last year’s inaugural Catalyst Award, Mark Sevestrewhose work has brought economic reconciliation to the forefront for many organizations.

Given the unsettled economic and political world in which we’re operating today, it’s all the more important we come together to recognize the positive, inventive persistence demonstrated by many leaders in the field, past and present, and hold them up as models for the challenges and opportunities that still lay in front of us.

The 2026 SHARE Catalyst Award will recognize a single trustee, investment committee member, governor, executive, or staff member from a Canadian institutional asset owner who has demonstrated the leadership, vision and forceful stewardship exemplified by the innovators who came before us.

The nomination period for the 2026 award is open from: November 21 through January 19.

The winner of the inaugural award will be announced at the 2026 SHARE Investor Summit, taking place April 8 and 9 at the Hilton Downtown Toronto.

Nominations can be submitted by colleagues, supervisors, or other stakeholders within the responsible investment community.Individuals can also self-nominate.
