SHARE Welcomes Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne to Board of Directors 

SHARE is pleased to announce the Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne as the newest member of the SHARE Board of Directors.  

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Lansdowne and the wealth of experience she brings,” said Yulena Wan, SHARE Board Co-Chair and COO/CFO of the Hamilton Community Foundation. “Her expertise and perspective, along with her demonstrated tenacity in leading organizations through complex challenges, will make her contributions invaluable to the ongoing work of SHARE and the broader responsible investment community.” 

A member of the Heiltsuk First Nation, Dr. Lansdowne is a leader in non-profit, theological and social impact spaces; an Assistant Professor of United Church of Canada Studies at Emmanuel College, Victoria University in the University of Toronto; and an ordained minister in The United Church of Canada (UCC).  She has served as a trustee on the board of directors for the United Church of Canada pension fund, a board member of the Vancouver Foundation, and from 2022-2025 she served as the first Indigenous woman to be elected Moderator of the United Church of Canada. 

Carmen is known for her steady, pragmatic and deeply relational leadership style. In addition to her ministry, Dr. Lansdowne has served several nonprofit and social profit organizations, including as Director of Operations at Action for the Climate Emergency and Ecojustice Canada, and as Executive Director at First United Church Community Ministry Society.  

“The complexity of current conditions demands creative solutions,” said Vonda Brunsting, Board Co-Chair and Director, Global Worker’s Capital Project, Center for Labor and a Just Economy at Harvard Law School. “The thoughtfulness, creativity, and optimism that Dr. Lansdowne brings to this work will help ensure that SHARE remains a leader in  responsible investment in Canada, and beyond.”
