2010 Manitoba Pension Forum

One day course on May 13, 2010, discussing crucial pension plan governance, funding and investment issues.
This event will feature Carol Bellringer, Auditor General for the Province of Manitoba, and Kevin Rebeck, President of the Manitoba Federation of Labour, among many other industry experts.
The highlight will be lunchtime keynote speaker is Monica Townson, an independent economic consultant working in the field of social policy.
The Forum consists of three separate sessions: Introductory, Advanced, and Lunchtime Keynote.
The Introductory session runs from 8am-5pm and is designed for those who are new to the pension industry, or those who would like to review fundamental concepts necessary to understand and fulfill their role as pension trustees, committee members or administrators. The introductory program includes breakfast and participation in the keynote lunch session. The fee for this session is $250.
The Advanced session is held from 12pm-5pm and is geared for trustees or those involved in the pension industry with an advanced knowledge and understanding of pension issues. The advanced program includes the keynote lunch session. The fee for this session is $125.
The Lunchtime Keynote presentation by Monica Townson will include a discussion on proposed pension plan reforms, including expansion of the CPP and the introduction of a voluntary supplement to the CPP as well as implications for occupational pension plans. The fee for just the lunchtime keynote session is $35.
