Building a Low Carbon Economy: The Role of Investors

Co-sponsored by the SFU CIBC Centre for Corporate Governance and Risk Management, the City of Vancouver and SHARE, a leader in responsible investment services for Canadian institutional investors, this public event features Sharan Burrow, the General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), the world’s largest trade union federation, who spotlights the challenge of climate change and the positive role trade unions and pension funds can play in a just transition to a low carbon economy. After the special address, senior representatives from the City of Vancouver and the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) share their perspectives on the challenge of climate change and the role city government, business and multilateral institutions can play in building and sustaining a green economy.
