April 22, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm

Vote yes for the shareholder proposal at the Potash AGM

The Shareholder Association for Research & Education (SHARE) is hosting an educational webinar on Friday, April 22nd at 11:00am Eastern time to present an update on the human rights situation in Western Sahara and the shareholder proposal at Potash Corporation (TSX:POT) being presented at their upcoming Annual General Meeting.

The shareholder proposal, filed by OceanRock Investments and the Mercy Sisters of Newfoundland, asks the company to conduct and publish a human rights assessment of its sourcing of phosphate from the non-self-governing territory of Western Sahara.

The webinar will feature presentations from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights and Western Sahara Resource Watch about human rights concerns in Western Sahara and the legal, operational and reputational risks for companies sourcing from the territory. It will provide institutional shareholders and advisors an opportunity to ask questions of the human rights experts and the shareholders that filed the resolution prior to filing their votes.

Presenters

  • David McKean, Program Officer, Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights
  • Erik Hagen, Western Sahara Resource Watch
  • Sister Elizabeth Davis, Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of Newfoundland
