The ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have exposed fractures in our social, political and economic systems and have exacerbated inequities across the globe.
Recognizing the negative financial implications that these trends can have for investment portfolios; investors are paying greater attention to social issues, including workers’ rights, fair wages and racial justice.
One of the ways investors are stepping up is by filing shareholder resolutions, with 2022 looking to be a record-breaking year for the number of shareholder proposals on the ballots of North American companies related to social and environmental issues.
