Workshop: Business, Investors, and Reconciliation – 9am – 11:45am

May 12, 2017

Co-hosted with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, this workshop will bring together Indigenous and non-Indigenous trusts, business people and economic development officers to address how publicly-listed companies in Canada can implement the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action for business and what investors can do to help get them there.

The Shareholder Association for Research and Education (SHARE) reviewed 170 TSX-listed Canadian companies in eight sectors to benchmark their reporting on Indigenous employment, contracting and advancement; representation and leadership; and respect for free, prior and informed consent and UNDRIP.

The workshop will preview highlights from the results and discuss ways that investors can support reconciliation. What are the public signals that a company is taking action towards reconciliation? How do we measure best practices? And how can shareholders help make it happen?

This event is made possible with the generous support of Inspirit Foundation.

*Registration is required. This is a free event and space is limited.
