Key labour rights issues at Amazon will be discussed during this webinar hosted by SHARE and UNI Global Union. A panel featuring investors, a labour rights expert and a worker will delve into the workforce-related risks that Amazon and its workers face and offer practical insights on how investors can address them during this proxy season and beyond.

At Amazon’s upcoming annual general meeting, shareholders will have the opportunity to vote on two proposals addressing high stakes, material labour rights risks at the Company:

Proposal on Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining: Filed by SHARE on behalf of the Catherine Donnelly Foundation and supported by a coalition of more than 20 investors, this proposal urges the Board of Directors to commission an independent, third-party assessment of Amazon’s adherence to its stated commitment to workers’ freedom of association and collective bargaining rights, as outlined in the company’s Global Human Rights Principles.

Proposal on Health and Safety in Warehouses: Filed by Tulipshare, this proposal asks the Board to commission an independent audit and report of the working conditions and treatment that Amazon warehouse workers face, including the impact of its policies, management, performance metrics, and targets.

Although not new to the ballot, these proposals are both addressing highly topical issues and risks that demand investors’ attention and action. This webinar brings together diverse voices from around the investor table including investors, labour rights experts and current Amazon workers at the forefront of change and advocacy. With a wide range of perspectives, this informative discussion will answer your most pressing questions about why these votes matter, and how your voting decisions can contribute to better risk mitigation at Amazon and across your investment portfolio.

This webinar is hosted by SHARE and UNI Global Union, with support from Tulipshare and Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR).

Please note the event will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at 10 a.m. EDT (Eastern Daylight Time)/3 p.m. BST (British Summer Time).
