SHARE, together with Parnassus Investments and PFA Pension, has filed a shareholder proposal at Alphabet Inc., asking the company to establish formal board‑level oversight in a Committee Charter on risks related to its development and use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The proponents contend that such oversight is a baseline requirement for a company of Alphabet’s scale and influence — particularly as AI becomes central to the company’s business.
Ahead of the company’s annual general meeting on June 5, SHARE has filed an exempt solicitation through the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, urging shareholders to support the proposal and rebutting the company’s arguments against it.
